The Men's wheelchair basketball team won their semi-final game against Mexico last night 76 to 48. They had a hard fought first half but extended their lead as the game went on. It was a great game to watch. The crowd was super loud cheering on Mexico. Mexico's Raul Ortega kept the game close in the first quarter and ended up Mexico's leading scorer with 16pts. USA had two big scorers for this game, Joe Chambers with 22pts and Jason Nelms with 16pts. With this win they have a chance to play for a Gold Medal but more importantly they are automatically qualified for the London 2012 Paralympics!
The big shocker of the night was the other semi-final game between Canada and Columbia. Canada was having trouble making their shots and Columbia was able to hang in the game and edge Canada out in overtime with a final score of 69 to 58. Canada will now play Mexico today at 4:45pm EST for the Bronze Medal and their ticket for London. Only the top 3 teams qualify so only the winner of this game will be qualified.

The USA Women are also automatically qualified for London and will face Canada in their Gold Medal game at 7pm EST.
The USA Men's wheelchair basketball team won their game against El Salvador yesterday 86 to 7. They play the semi-finals today against Mexico for an automatic qualification to the Paralympics and the chance to play for a gold medal. They play their game at 9pm EST tonight. Mexico beat Brazil in the quarterfinals yesterday to advance. If USA wins against Mexico they will play the winner of the Canada/Columbia game being played at 7pm.
The USA Women's team won their semi-final game yesterday, beating Brazil 66 to 32 for their shot at a gold medal and are automatically qualified for London. Becca Murray had a huge game and was the leading scorer with 23pts. The Women will play their Gold Medal game Saturday at 7pm against Canada.
The USA Women's team crushed Guatemala in yesterday's game 68 to 15. High scorers for the USA team were Miller with 15pts, Hollermann 14pts, and Schneider with 12pts. They play Brazil today at 7pm EST in the Semi-finals as they continue on their mission for Gold.
The Men finished their game strong as they went on to beat Brazil 80 to 47. Jason Nelms had a huge game scoring 20 of the team points. Chambers contributed 15pts and Schulte added 12pts. The Men will play El Salvador at 10am EST.

The USA Women's team beat Mexico this morning 77 to 46. They had two players, Miller and Murray, contribute 20pts and Schneider had 16pts shooting an impressive 88% from the field. The Women will play their next game against Guatemala at 12:15 EST tomorrow.
The USA Men's team played the next game of the day and won against Guatemala 95 to 23. They played big and had many players in double digit scoring. Nate Hinze was the leading scorer for USA with 29pts, Chambers and Turek both had 14, Serio had 13pts, and Schulte had 10. They had a great game today and will play Brazil tomorrow at 3:45pm EST.
The USA Men's team won their first game against Argentina 73 to 46. They played a great game and kept extending their lead every quarter. The USA Women also won their first game Sunday against Peru.
Both teams play today, the Women play first against Mexico at 12:15pm EST then the USA Men compete against Guatemala at 2:30pm EST. Good luck to both teams!
